Finally, together! On June 16th at Butterfly Park, George Vrabel led our first meeting since we shut down in the spring. While things aren’t back to “normal” quite yet, our mission is unchanging. Children in our community are in need and we will continue to help them. The safety and health of our members is important and we plan to take necessary precautions moving forward.
Things looked a little different from our morning meetings at Viking Chili Bowl. To remain in line with best safety practices, we stayed six feet apart. Many of the 23 members that attended sat at the picnic tables wearing masks, and some sat in lawn chairs. Of course, we had to snack! We had coffee and donuts available.
Even though our meetings were postponed for three months, we have been busy. Four Valpo High School seniors received scholarships, Meals on Wheels continued to be delivered every week, plans for the annual golf outing are in motion and the annual rummage sale is being revamped. Plus, all of our K-Kids and Builders Club teachers received certificates and gifts. This shows our dedication to keep helping children in our community, no matter what!
